WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN
Westlight (The William Vale)
Twenty-two floors over Williamsburg — the full Manhattan skyline in a single window.
Westlight crowns the 22nd floor of The William Vale, the tower that redrew the North Williamsburg skyline, and the height buys a view few Manhattan rooftops can answer: the midtown and downtown skylines in one sweep, with Brooklyn's rooftops running to the horizon behind you. Chef Andrew Carmellini's team runs the kitchen, so the small plates outclass the usual rooftop fare.
Inside is all glass and brass; outside, a wraparound terrace that turns golden hour into an event. It draws a dressed-up crowd on weekends, but a weekday sunset visit is easygoing, and the view does not grade on a curve either way.
Editor’s tip
Book an hour before sunset and start on the terrace's west side — the light crossing the river is the show.
